Baptism by Rain

This spring, we added a third wildflower section to the gardens, and one of the primary stars is wild bergamot, Monarda fistulosa. On a particularly chilly day in April while planting seeds, it began to rain. As I worked, the heavens drenched me from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet. In the midst of digging, the still small voice inside of me sparked a pause. With my bare feet on the ground, face to the sky, body and mind still, the aroma of the soil and the smell of rain enveloped me, heaven's baptism.

A few years ago, in a vision, I was face to face with a figure that I recognized as Christ. He said, "I didn't come to save you from your belief that you were born 'bad'. I came to show you the beautiful truth of who you are." Instantaneously, wholeness touched every cell in my body. Forever transforming how I see humanity, nature, the body, and all living things in a new Light. The encounter activated a four-year journey of learning a new language to describe this shift in consciousness. That morning, the rain felt like a divine kiss, sealing the emergence of a new butterfly.

The simplicity of what is True continues to shake me with awe and wonder. Because around that same time of the encounter, I began rewilding our gardens—letting the soil heal, allowing the ecosystem to nourish itself, and letting native plants go wild! What started as barren, crusty, and dry soil is now nearly covered in lush native biodiversity!

I’ll leave you to meditate on this: “You cannot become, who you already are. But you can dissolve the story that disconnects you from whom you are of. Whether you know it or not. You are of a beautiful Creator of vibrant life that has always been, and always will be.”
